Entry Rules & Regulations

  • Participants are required to complete the application in the form of a PowerPoint presentation, strictly adhering to the prescribed template, and submit it to kbda@kohler.com
  • Submissions will be accepted exclusively in PowerPoint presentation format.
  • The deadline for submission of entries is 15 July 2026.
  • All submissions must include sketches, plans, elevations, and, where available, before-and-after images of the space. These should be accompanied by professionally captured photographs (interior and exterior, as applicable), along with a detailed project write-up.
  • For submissions of a single project across multiple categories, a separate application form must be completed for each category.
  • The total number of pages in the PDF/images must not exceed 50, and the overall file size must not exceed 20 MB.
  • The project must be described in accordance with the guidelines provided within the presentation template.
  • Eligible projects must not be more than five (5) years old (i.e., completed no earlier than 2021).
  • The project must be fully completed and located within India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, or the Maldives.
  • Projects that have received awards in previous editions of KBDA shall not be eligible for re-entry.

General Rules and Regulations

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the participation in the Kohler Bold Design Awards, organized by Kohler India Corporation Private Limited, having its registered office at 26A, Ring Road, Lajpat Nagar – IV, New Delhi - 110024 ("Kohler India"). By submitting an entry to KBDA, each participant agrees to be legally bound by these Terms.

2. Definitions

For the purposes of these Terms:

  • "KBDA" or "Awards" means Kohler Bold Design Awards.
  • "Participant" means any individual who submits an Entry to KBDA.
  • "Entry" means any design, project, images, drawings, or other content submitted by a Participant.

3. Eligibility

  • Participation is open to individuals who meet the eligibility criteria specified on the official KBDA website.
  • Entries must be submitted by individuals. Where an Entry relates to work undertaken by an organization, architectural firm, or interior design firm, a single individual must be nominated as the Participant. Such Participant represents and warrants that all necessary rights, permissions, and consents have been obtained from the relevant organization and contributors.
  • Directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors of Kohler India and its affiliates, their immediate family members are not eligible to participate.
  • Members of the jury and their firms are not eligible to participate.

4. Submission Rules

  • All Entries must be submitted in the prescribed format and within the timelines specified on the KBDA website.
  • Incomplete, inaccurate, plagiarised, or misleading Entries shall be disqualified.
  • A Participant may submit multiple Entries; however, a separate submission form must be completed for each Entry, including where the same project is submitted across multiple categories.
  • Entries, once submitted, cannot be modified, cancelled, or withdrawn.

5. Evaluation and Judging

  • Entries shall be evaluated based on criteria determined by Kohler India, including originality, functionality, innovation, and design excellence.
  • The Judges shall act independently and in good faith while evaluating Entries.
  • The decisions of the Judges shall be final and binding. Participants shall have no right to challenge the evaluation process, or results.

6. Intellectual Property Rights

  • The Participant retains ownership of the intellectual property in the Entry.
  • By submitting an Entry, the Participant grants Kohler India a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence to use, reproduce, publish, display, adapt, and promote the Entry and the Participant's name, likeness, and professional details in connection with KBDA and Kohler India's marketing, publicity, and promotional activities, without additional compensation.
  • The Participant represents and warrants that the Entry does not infringe any third-party rights.

7. Data Protection and Privacy

  • By participating in KBDA, the Participant consents to the collection, storage, processing, and use of their personal data by Kohler India for the purposes of administering the Awards, communicating with Participants, publishing results, and complying with applicable laws.
  • Where separate consent is obtained, personal data may also be used for marketing and promotional communications. Such consent may be withdrawn in accordance with Kohler India's Privacy Policy.
  • Personal data shall be processed in accordance with applicable data protection laws in India, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and Kohler India's Privacy Policy.

8. Indemnity

The Participant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Kohler India, its directors, officers, employees, and agents from and against any third-party claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and reasonable legal expenses arising out of or in connection with: (a) breach of these Terms; (b) infringement of intellectual property or proprietary rights by the Entry; or (c) violation of applicable law by the Participant.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kohler India shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to participation in the KBDA.

10. Modification, Suspension, and Cancellation

Kohler India reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel KBDA or these Terms at any time for operational, administrative, or legal reasons, without prior notice.

11. Complaints

Any complaints or objections relating to KBDA must be submitted in writing to Kohler India within fifteen (15) days from the announcement of the shortlist, failing which such complaints shall be deemed waived.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Courts at Gurugram, Haryana shall have exclusive jurisdiction in all matters arising out of these Terms.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

14. Acceptance

Participation in KBDA constitutes full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms.

Instituted in 2016 as a biennial event, the Kohler Bold Design Awards is a platform by Kohler India, to acknowledge and celebrate truly exceptional work done by Indian architects & designers. The Jury panel includes some of the most renowned personalities in the field of architecture and design from India and abroad.
